I have mixed feelings about AI. I don’t believe that it will become conscious and then kill us all. I believe it will always lack that thing that gives us emotions, intuitions, morals, empathy, and I simply don’t believe you can develop consciousness without those things.
As far as the current iterations of AI, we all see the mistakes, especially when it comes to understanding humor or other indefinable emotions. We all hear about the problems they are having implementing AI in the real world. It simply isn’t developed enough as a tool for what they want.
As a tool, if you use it right, it can produce what you want quickly and sometimes better than I could. So I use AI for many of my logos, graphics and pictures. I use it to write standard text like privacy pages. But nothing it produces would mean anything without me to put it into context.
I don’t rely on any one AI model. But some are better than others, and they all seem to have specialties. I will have to see where they go from here,
